George A. Nail, M.D., D.D.S.
Dr. George A. Nail is a native Texan having been raised in Richardson, a suburb North of Dallas. He attended Richardson High School and then received a Bachelors of Science degree in Chemistry from Southern Methodist University, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude. He received his medical degree with honors from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas. He received his dental degree with honors from Baylor College of Dentistry, also in Dallas. He successfully completed his residency training program in Oral and Maxillo-Facial Surgery at the prestigious University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center/Parkland Memorial and Affiliated Hospitals program in Dallas, Texas. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillo-Facial Surgery, in addition to being a Texas state licensed Physician and Dentist.
Dr. Nail is a member of numerous professional societies and organizations including the American Association of Oral and Maxillo-Facial Surgery and the Texas Society of Oral and Maxillo-Facial Surgeons.
Dr. Nail is the director of the Center For Facial and Oral Surgery, an organization that not only strives to provide the highest level of quality surgical care, but that also provides continuing education to the North Texas Dental community in the exciting area of tooth replacement with dental implants.
Dr. Nail is passionately involved in providing all aspects of dental implant treatment to patients and in providing educational opportunities for others to do the same. He has extensive experience in assessing proposed dental implant sites for ideal tooth replacement. In order to achieve implant teeth that are optimal in terms of appearance and function, he is adept at sculpting oral tissues through bone and gingival grafts when indicated, each designed to give the new implant teeth a healthy foundation and a natural appearance. Dr. Nail also practices a full scope of Oral and Maxillo-Facial Surgery; performing, among other things, the removal of diseased teeth (including “wisdom teeth”), facial reconstructive procedures, laser and surgical treatments of snoring and sleep apnea, biopsy and removal of oral and facial lesions, and corrective jaw surgery. He maintains staff privileges to perform these procedures at area hospitals, and has dedicated himself to the surgical correction of facial and oral diseases, disharmonies, and imperfections.
In his free time, Dr. Nail enjoys exercising each morning, either running or lifting weights, and shooting the occasional basket or tossing a football or baseball around. He also reads voraciously; anything from history to literary fiction to scientific topics such as Cosmology (the origins of the universe).
Dr. Nail has been married since 1985 to the former Heather Kennedy and has three children, Chad, Brooke, and Andrew. He strives to live by the philosophy “I Am Third”, derived from the mantra “My God is First, my Family is Second, and I am Third. He is very involved in his professional community, and he and his family are equally involved in their church activities and the community at large.
